India UK trade deal announced

India has agreed new trade deal with India. It is not the hoped for free trade agreement it is hoped will increase trade between the new countries but will still exceed 1 billion pounds of new trade and investment. The UK government hopes a new free trade agreement will double trade between the two countries to around 50 billion pounds by 2030. India has imposed very high tariffs on many UK manufactured goods including cars and whisky. The UK tariffs on India goods, if removed, could help control UK inflation levels as it rapidly expands out of global pandemic.
