10 June 2022 – Canada’s jobless rate hit a new record low in May.

The jobless rate in Canada dropped to 5.1 percent.

The Bank of Canada, Canada’s central bank, increased interest rate to 1.5 percent from 1.0 percent last week to counter inflation, but the low unemployment figures are another indicator that inflation will accelerate so another big interest rate increase can be anticipated in July.

Canada Just Saw The Biggest Q4 For Residents Permanently Leaving Since The 1970s

25 March 2022 – Have Canadians had enough of Trudeau’s fascism?

Canadians are packing up and leaving at a fast rate, during a traditionally slow period. Statistics Canada (Stat Can) data shows emigration, the act of leaving permanently, jumped in 2021. The past
year showed modest gains, rising to the highest level in half a decade. The fourth quarter is what sticks out though, showing a sudden acceleration. Canada saw the largest Q4 volumes of residents
leaving since the 1970s.

Canadians left the country at a swift pace in a quarter they usually don’t plan a move. Stat Can estimates 16,901 emigrants in Q4 2021, up 215% from a year before.

Whatever the reason for leaving Canada it hasn’t stopped lots more wanting to emigrate to Canada. The net population of Canada is increasing, it’s just that the proportion of emigrants to already resident Canadians is increasing fast.

Britain and Canada trade deal post-Brexit transition sealed for January 2021

18th May 2022 – Canadian inflation rises to 6.8% from a year earlier, one of the fastest rates since the early 1980s.

High inflation is embedded now in Canadian business environment until a global recession in 2023 pulls back inflation at the cost of higher unemployment in Canada.

Last week, Bank of Canada deputy governor Toni Gravelle acknowledged the 1 percent policy rate was “too stimulative” and reiterated that rates, which were dropped to support the economy during the pandemic, need to be higher.

The central bank is widely expected to make a second 50-basis-point increase on June 1 and money markets are betting the policy rate will be around 3% by year-end.

Canada’s high debt-to-income level and overheated property market mean that a house price can be expected in 2023 at latest.

10th May 2022 – Canada Inflation Is 6.7 Percent

Interest rate is 1 percent and will not suppress further increases in inflation. At the moment there is only talk about need to increase interest rates to control inflation. The Bank of Canada has a target inflation of between 1 percent and 3 percent. Given current inflation is more than 3 times the target of 2 percent inflation, it appears that the Bank of Canada is not committed to its own target so why should anyone else belief the Bank of Canada is serious about controlling inflation. Are they letting inflation destroy value of Canadians money to shrink the size of Canada’s runaway debt levels?
